Bridget, Emma, Carl and the Nelson Family (plus one Mast) spent last Wednesday night and Thursday morning getting our home ready for D's arrival. Lot's of balloons and signs along our driveway. For those old enough to remember the Burma Shave Cream signs along the roads, that's what our driveway looked like thanks to Mary Nelson, her kids and Wyatt Mast.

I was very touching to see the reaction as Donovan walked down the hall way in lead of his mom and I. Everyone we saw was "Hi Donovan!" "Way to go Donovan" "Great to see you Donovan"...
We rounded the first corner (before i could start videoing) and two girls from the other class ran up to him and gave D BIG Hugs and very sweet words of welcoming.... Here is the video after that point. It took me a minute before fixing how i held the camera but i do so hang in there... It is worth the wait...
Our fist full day at home, Donovan had Wyatt and Bennett over for a play date. They had loads of fun. It is wonderful watching his friends play with him and being so careful with him and yet just being his friends.
Heading to the Tramp for a try. It was amazing watching D just plugging away to get where he wanted to be. |
On our second day, a girl in his class, McKenzie Cole, had a birthday party at a local hotel pool. It was great again seeing his friends welcome him. McKenzie's parents and several of the mom's there were very helpful. We swam, sat in the hot tub, at pizza and cake, played videos and sang Happy Birthday.
